I was charged 40 euro - I gave the woman a 5 euro tip - from the Airport. I learned at reception is should be 8 euro in total. The driver gave me a big story about loosing her job and not she was trying this as a profession and she was worried about her safety but she was just scamming me. Im usually on to these things but was tired and just wanted to get to the hotel.

Apparently this is a well known scam.

Apparently, this is common, a nice welcome to Portugal, so be careful.
