Arriving International Master's Student (Visa, Block Account, Insurance)

Hi Everyone,

I've applied for a Masters program in TUM Heilbronn. As an non-EU citizen I have to apply for a visa. TUM sent me an email about that which I can use VisaFlow to get the documents ready for visa application. About the documents, I have several questions:

- Does the Confirmation of Registration document can be used instead of Letter of Admission (since my admission process is still not fully complete)?

- For Insurance and Block Account, I saw that Expatrio and Fintiba provides service which sounds reliable. But somehow Expatrio forces me to get Private Health Insurance (which I don't want to, I want Public Health Insurance since I'm eligible for that), and Fintiba offers BARMER. Do you think I should move on with Fintiba and choose BARMER which is a Public Health Insurance provider in Germany? Also, if I went through with one of those service providers, will I be forced to pay all the amount (insurance, service etc.) eventhough I changed my mind or got rejected from TUM?

- How long does it takes to finish visa processes with the new online portal of Germany? (I read that documents can be uploaded to the system to shorten processing times. And you only went for formal meeting and fingerprints to the local embassy.)

Thank you in advance for your help. ^-^
