Just taken a look on the new school socials, particularly Linked In. What I have taken, having been teaching here for 5 years and knowing somewhat the names associated and the market.

Dulwich: Very positive and 'kind' facing. HT seems somewhat informal in a really positive nature.

St Paul's: Somewhat understated. It comes across from socials that it may take itself quite seriously?

Highgate: Definitely takes itself seriously. Very formal marketing tone, which makes sense for a 'selective OTT school'

Wycombe Abbey: Watched an interview with the HT who seemed like a good person. I liked the picture of staff in traditional dress too.

Anyone have any further insights? I could well be miles away in my own thoughts from what I've seen and heard.

Can we all agree it is time to stop sharing images of children in school social media pages and websites? With the latest news in the UK about blackmail, it feels inevitable that a big international group will be targeted. Marketing teams can surely just use AI images of children in their uniform? Baffles me the lack of care/ decision to not care.

Just because I needed to hear this a few weeks ago

Week 1- could still barely walk

Week 2- absolute horrid pains in my left testicle

Week 3- went to see the surgeon as pain continued but did start walking up to 20 minutes.

Week 4- exhausted but improvement and did two walks a day of 20 minutes

Week 5- back to work. Office job. Very uncomfortable after each day. Started to return to jogging.

Week 6- managed to run 2 x 2km relatively pain free although a little uncomfortable

Week 7- a slow and steady 10km.

In the moments at the start of recovery, it can be worrying you'll need get back to where you were. This is my second hernia surgery in 2 years and the recovery felt different, yet here I am getting back to exercise and life.

It does get better for the majority. 👍

This has been on my bucket list since I was 18 and turning 37 this year. I keep making excuses about the finances of it all and after a really shitty year professionally I've decided I need to do it!

I've run a few 100kms and a fastest marathon of 2.57 but the last two years has simply been about speed, obviously not conducive to MDS. Additionally, I'm 6 weeks post hernia surgery and only just managed 2 X 2km today!

I know it will be an adventure of a lifetime, whatever happens but I did want to know just a simple:

Where to get kit? I understand rucksacks are obviously personal preference but just wanted to hear thoughts.

Also, happy to shell out for shoes! Salomon with gaiters already built it?
