I am an upcoming freshman going to UMD and I was wondering how to get internships at any of the labs there. Should I just email professors or heads of the lab that I want to work at? Also do some labs pay their interns or is it just volunteering?
(I want to major in mechanical engineering or materials science so any labs that pertain to that)
