Experience moving from Vancouver > Toronto?
I'm hoping to hear from folks from Vancouver who have moved to Toronto, particularly those who enjoy the outdoors:
- What led you to move (work, relationship, etc.)?
- How have you found Toronto vs. Vancouver (in any sense, just looking for overall impressions & experience)?
- Are you happy with the decision and did you stay in Toronto?
Asking as I'm contemplating the move and there's potential I could be in TO for 5+ years. Not much of a city guy, which is why I'm currently in Vancouver. I'm an avid mountain biker and skier, and enjoy most outdoor activities (e.g., open water swimming, canoeing, XC skiing, etc.).
I'm concerned about the long cold winter and proximity to the outdoors as it seems like you have to drive quite a ways out of the city to get to good recreational opportunities (though I know there's supposed to be some riding at Don Valley in the city).
You hear about lots of outdoor enthusiasts moving from Toronto to Vancouver and loving it, but not so much the other way around. Hoping to hear some firsthand experience - thanks in advance!
