Shizuka said she didn’t want to confess again because she had already accidentally confessed to a zombie instead of Akira, and she thought confessing again herself would seem desperate (even though she never actually confessed directly to Akira and he was unaware of any confession). Meanwhile, Akira didn’t confess because he had already crossed it off his bucket list, so doing it again felt “mid” to him.

Are those really the reasons they didn’t tell each other how they felt in Chapter 55? I get that Akira can be an idiot sometimes, but I’m having trouble understanding Shizuka’s reasoning.
