How to care for an aging parent?

Problem/Goal:

I'm an only child, and it's just me and my mom. She is in her 70s, and I can feel and visibility see her aging every day. Things that she can do before are more taxing and constantly need assistance. We don't have any close relatives that we can rely on as it has always been just us. But now I am getting worried about her safety.

I don't know what to do or where best to start. We don't come from money and will not have the resources to pay for a caregiver.

Should I buy her a wheelchair? I recently got her a portable doorbell so she can ring whenever she needs anything, but I am not with her all the time, especially when I'm at work. I also got an indoor camera, so I can check on her anytime.

What else can I get her to make her life easier and more comfortable without spending too much?
