People who read books are not mind-readers...What is the biggest "no-no" for a book cover?
Dear brother and sister writers. If you are creating a book cover by yourself (which I never recommend), please remember, readers are not mind-readers. They are book readers! Please add the genre on the COVER! - Is it a Memoir? Fiction? Fantasy? I buy lots of books, the cover has to be brilliant and also give me, the reader, information...so I know what I am buying/reading etc. (just trying to give you all a heads up!)--I have been in this world for a long time and I really know what I am talking about...cheers!
A book design company designed a cover for one of my authors, and it was brown! Brown???? Would you ever have a brown cover?
