I’m having some difficulty understanding Surah Al-Hajj 22:40. I’ve checked various translations, such as Clear Quran and Sam Gerrans’, but they don’t seem to match.

Does Allah really mention churches, synagogues, and mosques in this ayah? How do you interpret this verse?

Also, does the verse mean that churches, synagogues, and mosques were not demolished because Allah willed it? In other words, is the ayah saying that Allah prevented these places of worship from being destroyed?

According to Qur'an:

Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish,
the Christians, and the converts; anyone who
(1) believes in GOD, and
(2) believes in the Last Day, and
(3) leads a righteous life,
will receive their recompense from their Lord;
They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

Quran 2:62*,* 5:69

When I was sunni I was very active making dawah in every opportunity but since I am Quran only I am not sure anymore if I should try to convert especially Christans or just try to convince them not to believe in trinity and live a righteous life and they will have salvation from their God? and they can keep believing their books , and from what I understand accepting or not accepting prophet Muhammed is not a must according to these verses?
