Backsplash Tile Options

I fell in love with this Mercury Mosaics Geo-Star pattern (Sample in the first image with counter and cabinet). It's on the high end price-wise, but I think it could be worth it. I wanted to try out some other options just to compare. This is a full rendering. We are doing a total remodel, just trying to get an idea of how it might look. Worth it or no?

Light color alternative to quartz?

It seems like quartz for kitchen counters is everywhere but then I read all kinds of issues with durability, staining, heat, etc. I like the look of light colored quartz with minimal pattern. What is the alternative if I don’t like the look of granite? We are pulling out laminate as part of a remodel and wanting something that lasts.
