Well, everyone’s doing it

King Air 200, nose gear chain broke and the nose gear wouldn’t extend. The pilot did an okay job holding the nose off as long as he could, but didn’t shut down the engines before landing. Two new props, two overhauled engines, and a bunch of sheet metal repair later, and she was off flying again about a year later!

I know what’s wrong with it, ain’t got no gas in it!

Ya know, I would have assumed it would be the bottom of a gas tank that’s more likely to rot out. Im glad I decided to drop the gas tank to inspect it because holy moly, It’s holey!

This is my 65 Fairlane 500. I just got the engine running yesterday, so I thought I’d get a fuel line run so I could fire it up for real on more than just a rubber hose with a funnel full of gas. Guess I’ll start looking into a new gas tank 🤷🏻‍♂️
