How does 2 more years of rising costs affect you

Just read another article saying Australians need to be prepared for another two years of this while inflation is “brought under control.”

Honestly… how much longer are people just expected to absorb it?

Higher mortgages. Higher rent. Higher groceries. Higher insurance. Higher power bills. And for some people, the risk of losing their job on top of it.

When does “just hang in there” stop being a realistic answer?

If it drags on for another two years how much will that impact you?

Should schools be teaching more about money?

I have young kids, and it’s got me thinking…

Should schools be teaching more about money?

Things like mortgages, interest rates, inflation, taxes, super and budgeting.

It feels like it’s mostly up to me and my wife to teach them, which seems crazy considering how important this stuff becomes once you leave school.

Am I missing something? Were you taught any real money skills at school?

Parents, do you feel the same?

Do big IPO launches make the stock market crash?

I keep seeing people say when there’s a massive IPO launch then the markets are going to crash.

We’ve obviously just had a big one and my portfolio has balanced out well.

Can someone explain why this actually happens? Is it just fear mongering I genuinely just don’t get it!

Falling behind?

Most Australians are “saving” but actually falling behind — here’s what changed for me

For a long time I thought keeping money in a savings account was the responsible move. Turns out I was just watching inflation slowly eat it while the bank profited off it.

Once I understood that money sitting still is actually losing ground — and started learning what to do instead — everything changed.

What’s the one thing you wish someone had explained to you earlier about making your money actually work? 👇

Financial Feeling Right Now?

Between mortgage rates, rent increases, groceries, insurance, electricity and everything else, I’m curious how people are actually doing.

Not what the headlines say.

Not what economists say.

How are *you* feeling financially right now compared to 2–3 years ago?

Better?

Worse?

About the same?

I feel like there’s a huge gap between what some people are experiencing. I know people who seem to be doing better than ever, and others who are working harder than ever but somehow falling behind.

What’s your situation and what’s had the biggest impact on your finances recently?
