[HELP] Persistent MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A) and Fatal Errors on i5-14400F / B760 Gaming X AX (Rev 1.2)
Hi everyone,
I’ve been battling constant BSODs and game crashes for a few days now and I’m at my wits' end. I’m looking for advice on whether this looks like a faulty CPU (degradation), RAM issues, or just a corrupted OS.
My Specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F
- MOBO: Gigabyte B760 GAMING X AX (Revision 1.2)
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 (Passed MemTest86 with 0 errors)
- GPU: AMD Radeon rx 9070 xt (Running on stock settings)
- PSU: Gigabyte 850W Gold+
- OS: Windows 11
The Symptoms:
- Constant MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A) Blue Screens.
- Occasional REGISTRY_ERROR and SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (once pointing to
FACEIT_AC.sys). - Games crash with a "Fatal Error" message shortly after launching.
- Strange "Access Denied" errors in CMD even when running as Administrator.
- Temperatures are fine: CPU and GPU temps are well within normal ranges under load, so overheating is not the issue.
Important Context: These issues have been happening almost since I got the computer, but only under heavy load. I can play less demanding games like CS2 or League of Legends for hours without any crashes. The problems only start when I run more demanding titles (like Red Dead Redemption 2 / "Far Far West").
What I’ve done so far:
- BIOS Update: Successfully updated to version F15. Used gigabyte app because standard Q-Flash gave "Can't Read File" errors.
- BIOS Settings: Currently running on Intel Default Settings. XMP is Disabled, Re-Size BAR is Disabled.
- Storage: Ran
chkdsk /f /rfrom Recovery Mode. 0 bad sectors found. - OS Repair: Ran
sfc /scannowandDISM– both reported the system is healthy. - Memory: Ran a full MemTest86 – no errors found.
My question: Before I pull the trigger on a clean Windows re-install (format), does this sound like a hardware failure (CPU/Memory Controller degradation) or is it possible that the initial instability just nuked my Windows registry beyond repair?
Any help would be appreciated!
