I was wondering if any trans women who are working on building a wardrobe might be interested in a bundle?? I was going to donate it to Vinnies - but to be honest I’d rather it go to someone in need, for free! I also don’t feel safe advertising this in local facebook community groups. So I am here 🙋‍♂️

Majority are women’s size 6-8, varying brands. A good number of pretty pieces! Brisbane based.

Looking for any tips and tricks to cut down foiling time (and also some stories to help me feel better ❤️‍🩹)

Today I did my 2nd full head of foils on a live client. I’ve done plenty on a head block and a good handful of half heads, but my foiling timing is always always wayyyy too slow.

Today it took me 2 hours and 40 minutes (nearly exactly on the dot) to finish this full head. Granted, I needed to do a fair bit of detailing for this client since she wanted high-impact but previously had some depth through her ends.. so lots of picking out old colour. I just feel totally defeated that it takes me so long.

The result was fine and the client left very happy, however my manager (understandably) was not pleased about the time it took and neither was I.

I’m still very new, but it’s frustrating when you feel like you physically cannot move any faster than you already are. I feel like half of the time I lose is on messing around with sectioning perfectly and making things look “neat” with my folds.

How long did it take you all to pick up speed with foiling and what’s the current “standard” time for a full head?

I’m an apprentice who’s swapped salons a few times (due to toxic environments), however, I’ve finally found one that I fit into well and the team is fantastic. Despite this, I can’t help but feel “burnt out”. I’m expected to qualify in December, which is absolutely terrifying!! I’m grasping so hard just to finish.

I’ve hit that point in my apprenticeship where I have the knowledge, but not to mileage of practical use. It just feels totally impossible that I’m ever going to confidently qualify or be able to do colours on my own - and to be honest - lately I’ve been feeling like I don’t want to at all.

For the next 4 weeks I have 1 foiling client every single day and a few miscellaneous services in between, but I’m so nervous for all of them and am totally afraid doing any of the foiling clients at all (even though I have done multiple so far and they’ve all been fine). And honestly?? Foiling totally sucks! I do not enjoy it at all.

I’m so scared of making mistakes and being wrong that it’s majorly impacted how willing I’ve been accepting new clients.

I’m just stuck in such a slum, and it really feels like I’m the only one.
