The star of the show - 'is' or 'are'??

"The star of the show though, is the fresh, local toppings"

Having a moment with this sentence. I know toppings is plural, but the subject 'star' before is singular. It doesn't sound right saying "The star of the show though, are the fresh, local toppings" and it sounds weird to pluralize 'star' into 'stars'

How can I make this work? Thanks!

Gracie Mattered

I found this tiny baby on the side of the road. I was on my electric bike and went over to her. She was so thin and small. No mom in sight. Very much abandoned. There was an older mom cat with an older kitten nearby and it broke my heart to see Gracie alone. I put her in my basket and we gently rode home to my house where she got some food water and bedding. She had really bad fleas so I separated her in her own room but would check on her every hour. Giving her pets and making sure she was ok. She had eaten and gone to the bathroom right on the litter pile already!

She wasn't moving much, very lethargic, but would come over to me when I came in, meow and purr. Sometimes even roll on her belly and made lots of biscuits. All the vets were closed over the weekend but I took her first thing on Monday to get flea medication and ear and eye drops. She came with me in my basket again all cozy for the short countryside ride to the vet.

When we got home I noticed she hadn't eaten for a while. I kept checking on her until the morning I found her sprawled out on the ground. I lost it. I loved this little thing and imagined her growing up and getting better. I took her in my arms. She was still alive but barely breathing. I tried getting taxi to an emergency vet but she passed in my arms. I am absolutely beside myself. I loved Gracie so much. She was so gentle and even in her weak state wanted to chase birds and explore the rest of the house. (I had to keep her confined to protect my other cats from the fleas)

Her short difficult life has rocked me. I had hope for her. I wanted to do anything for her but I lost her. I don't know if the medication was too much for her little body. I keep thinking what I could have done different. She was definitely anemic. I've been crying non stop since. Gracie touched me so much in such a short time. I will always remember her. Thanks for taking the time to know her too. She mattered.

Crazy guy eats 25 hot peppers!

I've tried searching everywhere for this guys account after seeing a reel the other day. I'm writing an article and need some info.

I saw a video on Instagram of this young 20s metal looking kid with long straight hair just chowing down on some insane peppers. I can't remember if they were ghost peppers or carolina reapers but I'm sure he does both. Guy does not flinch. Someone else came out and beat his record too.

Neither of these videos come up in any searches and they are both badass if they weren't fake. Please help me find them!
