KC included desk chair and lamp

The KC desk chair is the worst. The lamp doesn't work well for the limited space. I spoke with a "helper" on move day and she said if you remove them, just make sure to replace them at the end of the year. When I attempted to take them out the main entrance to give to my parents for storage, they said no. I said I'll return it. NO.

Is there a way to address this, so I can rid the floor lamp, free up needed space, and I'll get a new chair with ergonomic support so I can actually focus on my schoolwork instead of my back.

Any helpful advice appreciated

Thanks

ASL APPS

My Dad is deaf and 82. I am hearing. We are trying to get him into a skilled nursing facility and get accepted. When we go in they say they have beds, but then I ask if they have ASL interpreter services a few places said no. One woman who walked me around said let me ask my physical therapist she should know. The PT came back with a piece of paper, and it showed the marketing director the corporate policy sheet, "it looks like we have to provide it...." She had no experience with it, no idea. The marketing director said Ok we'll accept you we'll figure it out.

After I went back to the hospital the caseworker pulled me a side and after I told her we got accepted to the facility. She said, bad news, they said no. They don't have room.

She said by law they're supposed to take you but they can claim financial hardship or lack of administrative staff to provide the service. I later found out that ASL remote ipad services like the hospital uses, called "AMN Healthcare" can be any where from $1.50 to $3.00 a minute.

I find out medicare pays up to $575 a day for care. Even if they talk with her for 2 hours a day and guess the rate is $2 a minute then its $360 they pay and then it doesn't make it "worth it" for them.

So its clear there is a problem. The law needs to be changed, and maybe they're charging too much money? I don't know.

Two questions:

A. Does anyone have experience in dealing with the ADA or similar to be able to properly address this issue. Lodging a complaint against the "home" will be useless. The laws needs to be changed.

My only recourse at the moment is to find a comparable service I can bring to the table that serves as a functional replacement. I'm going to try RYLO later today. Ive tried a few other but they don't work very well, or would cause a problem for the staff in learning how to use it. Its not clear, and not intuitive. Sorenson said their service is only for people that are in different rooms. You cant use it in the hospital or any other setting that he needs now.

I found that even the most simple and direct AMN app at the hospital, which was so easy, still, a few nurses had no idea how to use it.

I've looked at deaf nursing homes theres nothing close to me at all.

B. Do anyone use an app that works well? Something idiot proof and effective.

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

Too lazy to be ambitious,I let the world take care of itself. Ten days' worth of rice in my bag, A bundle of twigs by the fireplace. Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment? Listening to the night rain on my roof, I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.

first day with the hearing aid

annnd no. For tinnitus.

Yeah, I call BS. Wydex 440. Comparing these to my airpods 3, its negligible. for $4,000 I expected more.

FIrst off, they can make adjustments at the office that I don't have access to. Like changes to the audiologist test, essentially creating the baseline, similar to what I was able to do on the airpods. At least with the airpods, I could retest my self and input data manually. I see this as a money push, keep bringing me back to the office.

The background sounds and tones that were built in to the device were no better or worse than the airpods for masking the T.

The hearing aid action in and of itself was fine, albeit lacking bass. More of a treble based sound. Tinny as I was said was to be expected. I had to get used to it........(BS)

Also the hair on my head, just above the ear, was creating a static sound when I turned lesft or right. Now I had just gotten a haircut 2 weeks ago, she said I should cut it back and contour it so the hearing aid wasn't touching any hair...........(BS)

Lastly the dumb beeotch, who fit me, yeah she was nice, but didnt do her home work as far as matching the T tone and pitch to help mask it. She said she had to make a phone call and get them to help her she didnt sell this unit and wasnt all too familiar with it. SO we would do it on our next visit in a few weeks.........Granted with that, could be the reason alone why I'm not experiencing the masking level I've read people claim works so well. Again, I think its a push for charging for office visits. Also stalling for time since I asked about the trial period and was told 60 days. When I spoke about it she said, OH well you have to wear it for 6 months before you know it can be effective. AND you know it wont fix your T, its still going to be there.......So then what the fuck am I even here for?

I dunno, sounds like regular habituation to me. I call shenanigans.

All in all. As a hearing aid, yeah OK if you cant hear you NEED it. For T, I highly doubt it, Ill wait a few weeks till the moron can get her shit together to figure out how to make it work better. Then give it a week. MEH

Custom ear plugs, silicone. mho

I had custom plugs made. Meh.

They're uncomfortable. Hard to fit. I had them redone. Tight fitting, necessary to achieve optimal results. Obviously.

Hard and heavy compared to foam plugs. I though a "smarter" material would be used considering the cost. They don't tell you this. I should have asked for a sample, but was desperate to try anything.

Also, if you gain or lose weight, they wont fit perfect anymore. Then, I was given a package of a water based lubricant to help them fit.

Foam ones better for an active environment for a busy day working with machinery. I don't perceive any higher NRR compared to the best 3m foam plugs I've tried, and I went through close to a dozen plugs finding the best fit.

So, doubling up with plugs and muffs is my best option. I do miss listening to music to make the day go by, but not willing to chance losing even one DB of protection to protect my hearing and chance making the tinnitus worse.

Hope this helps someone.

SInus perforation

Any pros out there that can comment on proximity of the tops to the sinus. I'm concerned about perforation. The doc just brushed it off, and said don't blow your nose like a trumpet, you'll be fine.

transition advice

8mm coretec LVP down on old floors. Half old hardwood and pictured here was from vinyl kitchen to stairs. Came out fine overall. Installers extended the lvp over the old vinyl as it was thick and I think to make transition easier... Transition strips are still to steep, makes footing unstable. Used regular flat strip 1st, then reducer wood molding, both no good.

I picked up few types that come close to matching color at lowes, to try tomorrow (a 4 in 1 doorway kit, a multipurpose reducer with snaptrack, or carpet trim 2" wide.

Thought to add "cap a tread" on top step only, to make it even and then a t-transition is the only thing I think would work but cant do the entire length of stairs just yet.

or cut it back and add transition strip to make it so entire foot lands flat on top of step, as it was before?

Installer think the carpet trim as best option as of now.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank you
