The Purpose of Baritone E Guitar

Hello. I do own a Ibanez RGIB21 Baritone Guitar for a while now. And I want to switch to a 7 String. The Reason for this is that I have a hard time to play chords on that heavy low string because it is too thick. So I thought it makes my life easier if I switch to a 7 String Guitar because the Top String is way lighter. As I thought about that I noticed something. Why do I have to put a 70 String on a 28 inch Baritone Guitar to have a bit more tension on the String as I tuned to A? I also noticed that that Jackson has a Baritone Guitar model that has a 26,5 inch scale and comes with 12-54 for Standard B. So wouldn't it make more sense to put lighter Strings on a longer scale to tune lower? So what's the actual purpose of a 6 String Baritone Guitar?
