30” baritone 7 string on the way - string recommendations?

I’ve got a Cerberus XRC7 on the way - is coming without strings. This is my first foray into such a long scale length (current longest is LTD H-1008B with Evertune at 27”) and wondering what gauge set I should look for.

Planning on keeping it around drop F-G standard, but miiiight venture down toward E1. Off the shelf options are the Ernie Ball Baritone 13-72, Stringjoy 11-70 and 13-74. Since is 30” scale length, I’m thinking the 11-70 would be most suitable, but would love your input.

Want to get my first baritone, but I'm having trouble deciding between a Rivolta Mondata Deluxe or a Rivolta Mondata VII. Any body have experience with these?

No store near me carries either of these so I can't try them out to see which I like more, any suggestions?

Intonating conversion neck from TWT guitars

recently got a 28 inch "conversion" neck from TWT guitars. Having trouble getting it intonated, upper frets are pretty sharp (not noticeable when playing by myself but I'm worried it would be if I played with my band or recorded with it). Would it be worth moving the bridge back or are there other less invasive solutions? I'm tuning down to a variation of drop E.

What are some body recommendations?

I’m just getting into this, but I’ve started a personal project! I’ve got a 27-inch St-style guitar neck, so I’m planning to build a baritone guitar. I’m not sure if I need a particular type of body. Any insights or recommendations would be fantastic! Also, if you have any suggestions for other gear I might need to buy whether it’s pickups, tuners, etc. I’d love to hear them!

Need Help in choosing a baritone...

Hello everyone I would like to know what scale Baritone should I choose for Drop A (Like on Black Spikes - Imperatorė) and Drop F# tunings (Like on Spiritbox's - Circle with me)? Is it possible to have one baritone for these tunings or the gap between these tunings is too big? 🤔

Over a month in…

I am obsessed with this thing. I can’t speak highly enough of it. I didn’t know anything about these beforehand but walked into a guitar center for strings for my firefly baritone and saw this front and center - this was a couple days after the new Gretsch baritones release. I saw one of these CVTs and ended up picking it up and playing it three times. I grabbed my strings and went home but just kept thinking about it. Normally, that feeling wears off after a day or two and i can convince myself why i shouldnt get it. couldnt shake it with this one. the one i played had sold already and so had all the ones around - i didnt expect it would be so popular.

Ended up finding a store a few hours away willing to hold their last one. I drove there next day and traded the firefly and havent regretted it 5 weeks later now. If I had to find SOMETHING i dont like about it, i guess it would be the position of the top strap button which I will probably move but that’s legit it for me.

I have tried a couple sets of strings. ended up coming back around to almost stock with EX157 14-68s in drop A. 12s were too slack, fun but didnt sound as good to me. 13s I tried were okay but this thing really sings with some tension. It sounds great unplugged which is what drew me in from the start.

NGD - GCI Craftsman Baritone

Picked up my first baritone. A God City Instruments Craftsman. Thought there would be a transition period switching to a 27” scale neck but it plays like a dream.

Thoughts on PRS SE 277

I’ve been doing research on several baritone guitars and I’ve thought about this guitar for about 6 months. What is everyone’s opinions on it. Is there something you would recommend over it?

The Purpose of Baritone E Guitar

Hello. I do own a Ibanez RGIB21 Baritone Guitar for a while now. And I want to switch to a 7 String. The Reason for this is that I have a hard time to play chords on that heavy low string because it is too thick. So I thought it makes my life easier if I switch to a 7 String Guitar because the Top String is way lighter. As I thought about that I noticed something. Why do I have to put a 70 String on a 28 inch Baritone Guitar to have a bit more tension on the String as I tuned to A? I also noticed that that Jackson has a Baritone Guitar model that has a 26,5 inch scale and comes with 12-54 for Standard B. So wouldn't it make more sense to put lighter Strings on a longer scale to tune lower? So what's the actual purpose of a 6 String Baritone Guitar?

Harely benton JA baritone

So I've been looking at the humbucker version for a

while, and I was a couple days from ordering before I

went out of stock and now it says its gonna be several

months before the restock and I dont really have that

much time, so I was thinking about the p90 version, and

to people that have experience with this pickup/guitar is

it any good? I was thinking to swapping the bridge to a

p90 sized humbucker too, so in that sense its fine,

anyway thanks for the help yall!!!

John Page Guitars just launched the Baritone AJ and DL, featuring Chris McQueen (Snarky Puppy) and Matt Muehling (Kill Tony)

John Page (Fender Custom Shop co-founder) just dropped a baritone collection built on a pretty clever idea: instead of redesigning the body for a longer scale, they kept the AJ and DL bodies completely identical and put all the engineering into the neck. 27" scale, 23 frets, same balance and ergonomics as the standard models. They're designed to feel as familiar as possible so you can get inspired the second you pick one up, not spend your time re-adjusting your form.

The launch video features Chris McQueen (Snarky Puppy) on the AJ and Matt Muehling (Kill Tony) on the DL, both playing and talking about how it feels coming from a standard scale.

$4,495, same price as the standard AJ/DL models.

Question about transposing songs from standard tuning

Hi all - I just got my first baritone guitar (Reverend Descent) after playing guitar for 20+ years. I’m realizing it’s definitely going to take some getting used to, but had a question as I’m relearning some of my band’s songs.

Most of the songs I’m wanting to play on the baritone were written in standard tuning. If I’m playing my Reverend in B Standard (B-E-A-D-F#-B), is it more advantageous to either use a capo on the 5th fret (or shift everything up 5 frets) OR to shift everything up one string and add the low B when it makes sense?

Since we play heavier post-hardcore music, I imagine the latter would make more sense, but altering some of my chord shapes for the F# instead of a G is proving to be tricky.
