String gauges and inharmonicity?

Ernie Ball's Baritone Slinky strings are the only ones I've found that can reliably tune down really far without getting floppy but also without having a dull and lifeless sounding bottom string due to inharmonicity. I thought it was because I was using standard scale length guitars before getting my baritone, but when I switched to a lighter set on the bari for easier bends, the bottom string sounded just as bad as all the other sets I've tried on standard length guitars. It's nice to have something, but the Ernie ball strings are so insanely thick (13-72!) that they become uncomfortable to use when tuned above A. Are there any other sets that sound as good as the ernie ball baritone strings but lighter?

(no it is not an intonation issue the open string reads the same on the tuner as the 12th fret do not come in to the comments saying its just bad intonation that's not how it works)

(no its not action either)

What does a solid state amp sound like when it's pushed pushed into distortion on the clean channel?

I'm really curious about this, but I couldn't find any examples of it and I wouldn't dare try it with my 65w amp in my crowded house.

Say I had a big clean boost going in to the clean channel of a 10w SS amp turned way up. What would the amp sound like? Would it just be a really inconvenient way of getting the same sound as the overdrive channel? Or would it be like a hard clipping distortion pedal? I can't imagine it would sound much like the clipping of an audio interface or something like that because the speaker would still be filtering out most of the high end, right?

The few posts I've seen talking specifically about this kind of scenario describe it as really fizzy and awful, but people also say that about solid state distortion in general which I strongly disagree with so idk. Are there any videos or anything that I missed?

Replacing the volume knob for a Fender Deluxe 85 Red Knob

I have a Fender Red Knob solid state amp that is great but the clean channel has the most sensitive volume knob I've ever used. Right now, I have the volume set to almost 0 when I use it at home. Turning it to 1 is enough to piss off the people I live with. Would it be feasible to replace the volume pot with something that isn't so front-loaded volume wise? I have a soldering station but so far I've only used to make a diy RAT pedal. If it is feasible, what all should I know before I try it?
