ABS Failure on a 2015 Honda Accord 97k miles

Hi everyone, I posted here about a week ago asking for advice on harness repair. I took my car to the dealership and got harness repair as the solution to multiple dashboard lights and clicking sound on the brakes. They also told me to do some other maintenance stuff. I got a second opinion from a local mechanic. I chose to do the harness repair from the local mechanic after they did a free second opinion and other minor maintenance stuff.

Picked up the car then an hour later we were right back to where we started with the dashboard lights. I took it back to them and they ran another diagnostic and said the ABS has failed and quoted me 3k+ for new ABS & labor.

Now I don’t know what to do. The dealership did offer me $9-10k for trade in multiple times (assuming they offer this to everyone) and I haven’t really explored it. I don’t have car payments and would want to avoid but I also want a reliable car. I’m going to school come January next year and will be driving 1hr+ couple of times a month. We get lots of snow where I am and I just don’t want to be in a position where my car is broken or God forbid not able to brake.

So I didn’t plan on spending 3k on car repairs this year. I’m not sure if I should focus on the repairs or consider trading in.

Looking for advice. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Honda Accord 2015. Dashboard lights and Clicking Sound. Concerned about the quotes I received

Hi everyone,

I had issues with dashboard lights for a long time. My car still drives fine. The lights come on and off but nothing major. Yesterday I heard clicking sound when I hold the brakes before while in Park. I took it to the dealership this morning just to do diagnostics and get that checked.

They sent me a quote. This is my first car, not really familiar with cars. I bought it second hand. It doesn’t really have anything, my backup camera stopped working about a year or so ago. I don’t drive much except to work or run errands. It has 97k miles. I changed oil and gas it up pretty much.

I don’t have male figures in my life to check with so I turn to strangers online. My local mechanic couldn’t clear the codes and asked me to take it to Honda last time I got my oil changed, I also changed the battery too recently. Is it worth paying the dealership for the quotes I received? They said they’ll check if this fixes it first. I don’t have 1.9k to drop on repairs for just in case it fixes.

I’d appreciate your help. They are waiting for me to approve the repairs or take my car back.
