The moon on its side

Heard are my thoughts:

  1. Initial thought, a semi-c

ircle

  1. or crescent shape
  2. But then I got to thinking that the moon comes in all sorts of different shapes depending on the phase so if this is a visual cue it needs to be more specific. These are the same guys that used lobster for British, a crow for a priest, and a grain tower for a monument. Maybe the moon is a stand-in for something else.
  3. So maybe there’s a round light spot appearing on the mountain somewhere. Or maybe the moon is a nickname for a fantasy character or location like the Rock is a nickname for a wrestler and a famous prison.

I don’t really know where to go from here, but I do feel like this is the most important line in the poem because it’s going to give you a location where you can start narrowing down trails.

What do y’all think?
