Front Tumbling

Hello like the post says I would love to know from athletes or coaches about. Reasons as to why I don’t see more skills invented in cheerleading. The sport has advanced for a long time with stunting and back tumbling with 1or2 twists. That what I’ve seen cheerleaders do for tumbling front skills are punch front and arabian.

Interview of Katelyn Ohashi

these interview was recorded in 2024 because the interviewer ask how old she is 27. She 29 now Katelyn talks about gymnastics how it’s changed from when she did it. And how now the current girls are older then in past and how hard it was to grow up in the elite world then. I felt like these was one of the catalyst in her return. Getting to see women like Simone and Chiles and others competing and how college change her far the better after her first run of Elite Gymnastics didn’t go well. I like to add one more thing Katelyn also touch on some dark things that where said one being from the old coordinator Marta károlyi saying you crush them you crush them until they get better. These just further echoed that the ranch truly being hell on earth for all the girls that were in the elite system .

U.S Men’s Gymnastics Possibilities.

I love Danila Leykin and I think his one of the new rises stars this LA Quad. He is forgoing College Gymnastics and instead staying in EVO center in the Elite path and turning pro. I think it’s a very interesting thing because a rare few of The Men U.S. Gymnasts to these. The ones in the past John Orozc,Daniel Leyva and current athlete Donnell Wittenberg. Are example that not all of the men have to do college gymnastics there are pros and cons to this. In the past not being in college ment you had to pay your gym fees and affording travel and other cost that if your not on the National Team funding is quit expensive. Trent Dimes being an example that even thought he started in college in his elite path he did not finish is rest of his college eligibility years and left Nebraska Gymnastics Team in 1990 he did not make the national team 1991. Running low on funds and feeling hopeless one day he opened the mall box and saw a check he got from a benefactor by the name of George Steinbrenner businessman. After getting is help he went on to 1992 Olympics and became the High Bar champion. Now because of EVO center some of the Junior boys going into Seniors can decide if they want to go to college or not. Having all the benefits that I mentioned college gives you now EVO does that for them. College brings camaraderie and team focus and a degree plus a lot of competitions experience in there long season. But on the other side of that because of the long season some men get injured and can’t compete the elite season. And also not being able to go to international competitions because of the NCAA season in the middle of that. Getting off a college competition to another international competition. they would have traveling jet leg. EVO has all the college graduates and Olympians for the boys to look up to and gain the camaraderie, they got from there experiences. All these to say is the men have more options either path they want to take for themselves. plus after graduation the men that aren’t on the national team funding would have to quit or be an assistant coach of college men’s program. There aren’t that many positions for all of them to have that also the dropping of Men’s College Gymnastics programs lead to an even harder time cultivating there gymnasts further.

Epiphany on the Men’s side of the sport

So far I’d like to add something to the mix. About Fred Richard and how Tim Dagget
commentating was talking about him. Fred still won day 1 despite it I know some people might not like what Fred says and does. Inside and outside the competition floor but it  b
rought me to a memory. Of how during an
interview on GymCastic John Orozco time as part of the national team. Every time a male gymnasts or coaches like David Durante or Justin Springs
had wanted to change or do something different that might help them the powers that be would punish them. And leave them off teams or opportunities to the point that the athletes stop trying anymore. David left the sport because he saw the writing on the wall. And now he has a great business PowerMonkeyFitness. Justin left the Men’s side of the sport because part of the reason was because he tried to ask for change on the men’s side of college gymnastics try new ideas to get more fans engaged and rise more excitement , and they said they would never do that and he left there after for better offer of pay and job security to go to the Women’s side of college gymnastics. He saw that programs kept getting cut and saw possible solution to try add in saving the men’s sport. The sport of gymnastics has change so much now in both the Men’s&Women’s they have more autonomy to say/do more things now. They would have been punished for way back in 2016. Fred Richard to me and many of his teammates symbolize a new change for the Men‘s side of sport. And the opportunity for more eyes to the sport for them. some people might not like his own uniform but thats alright he‘s open doors and discussions for more men to be more expressive and have more choices to do or say or wear what they want. I feel like John Orozco and his era of gymnast. would be proud of the gymnast of today the likes of Stephen Nedoroscik and Ian Gunther and many more Men’s gymnast are getting fame and spotlight into Men’s Gymnastics.

Dance Moms Spinoffs

Hello everyone, like the title says I was just thinking wouldn’t it be cool to have a gymnastics or figure skating TV show spinoff of Dance Moms. I remember from when Christie YouTube pillowtalk series with the other Dance Moms was saying. How they were trying to put a different spinoffs of something similar to Dance Moms and I wonder what that would’ve looked like in those shows.

If Cheerleading finally it’s to the Olympic’s. I wonder if The Cheer Federation will merge with The Gymnastics Federation.

I would love to see people’s takes on this and understand if people agree or disagree on this topic.
