Scholarship and book bundle

This fall will be my freshman year at HCC for Anthropology. I found out yesterday that I am being awarded the Presidential Honors scholarship, which covers full tuition and books. Does anyone know if I need to opt out of the hawk book bundle? Or does the scholarship cover the bundle fee?

Hi, it's me again 😄

I'm trying to apply for the honors program for this fall at the Brandon campus, and it requires a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor. The problem is that I graduated in 2005 and I did not stay in contact with any teachers, I don't even know if any of them still work there or even remember me at all from that long ago.

Any advice on what to do? Is there someone specific in the honors program that I could talk with about that?

First time college student at 39yo

I graduated highschool in 2005, but I was unable to attend college at that time.

I kind of just accepted I wouldn't ever be going to college and it was fine I guess.

Now I'm 39yo with 3 kids, the 2 oldest starting highschool this fall, and I am extremely excited to be in a place in life where I'm able to go to school.

I'm going to HCC Brandon for Anthropology this fall. I attended the first timer orientation, but I was only able to register for 1 class because they still haven't received my transcripts yet.

The thing is that I attended TBT for 9th-11th with all honors classes and one AP class, but due to personal/family BS, I completed my senior year at home through a correspondence school based in Illinois called American School.

I ordered both sets of transcripts, but my question is if any of those classes will matter since it was so long ago. Will I have to do a college placement test anyway? I emailed the advisors to set up a remote PERT test at home, but I haven't received a response.
