Can you help open this clock?

Hey all, has anyone dealt with a clock like this? We’ve removed it from the crystal holder, tried twisting, but we can’t get the silver part off to change the battery. Any tips? Thanks!

Edit: I should have added a fourth picture, the clocks side, that you see, silver(grey) with a square cut out (my man says those are the locks?) that's all you'll see if you turn the whole thing around. Plain "brushed" silver looking, with the three square knotches, evenly spaced apart.

I did Gemli app it last week, and it says

"Lead crystal desk clock, Staiger quartz movement, West Germany"

"Staiger was a renowned West German clockmaker established in the Black Forest region, known for producing high-quality timepieces from the 1950s through the 1980s. The company specialized in combining traditional German craftsmanship with modern quartz movements and decorative ī housings. These crystal desk clocks were popular decorative items during the 1960s-1980s, appealing to consumers who valued both functionality and elegant home décor. Vintage Staiger clocks 8 collected today for their craftsmanship, nostalgic appeal, and the quality of West German manufacturing."

But all that, and I'm still puzzled on how to open it?
