Is there a way to get someone legally removed from a property title if they've never financially contributed to it?

Location: NSW, Australia.

Full story begins almost 30 yrs ago... My parents got the bright idea to buy a house and then put my horrible grandmother (dad's mum) on the title for it and let her live in the granny flat. Presumably she was supposed to contribute to the household by being a babysitter for me and my brother, which she didn't really do, she couldn't give a rat's ass about anyone but herself.

It's been years now and she's never contributed a cent to mortgage, bills, etc, and now it's getting to the stage where she may need a nursing home. This has understandably scared my mother because my mum could now be forced to sell the house and use half the proceeds to pay for it. If this happens there's no chance of my mum getting another place as the money won't be enough and she has a disability now that prevents her from working.

My question is if there's anyway to legally get my grandma off the housing title on the basis that she's never contributed anything towards it and therefore not entitled to it?

Sounds harsh, I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if my grandma planned it this way years in advance just to screw us over. What can we do, if anything?
