Noob running (jogging) support

Hi everyone,

At the grand old age of 37, I've decided I need to work on my cardiovascular health, and jogging is my choice of activity. (In case it's relevant, I'm otherwise pretty inactive. I'm a chef, but do no other exercise. I'm about 86kg in weight)

It's been about 3 weeks of 3/4 30-minute runs and my knees are now in a lot of pain. I've tried taking a few days off and I've tried taking painkillers.

I don't really want to take more time off because I'm liable to lose momentum.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
