Starting to develop cataracts...

Hey everyone, I'm 27 female with panuveitis (for 7 years) and glaucoma (for about 6 months). My doctor said i have a early degree of lens change in both eyes in the last letter he sent to me. He probably mentioned it while actually looking at my eyes but I didn't know what it meant so it never really registered. I have since googled it and learned it means I have started to develop cataracts. I used to use prednisone for about 6 years now I'm on lotemax.

How quickly will the cataracts develop now I've got them? I worry that even though it's taken years for them to start, they might escalate quickly.

Will it be posterior subcapsular cataracts? I googled that that is what it will most likely be.

Will this effect my other conditions? Make them worse?

What is your experiance with this combination of conditions?

How do you deal with having so many eye conditions? Is there another one around the corner for me?

What do you want to know about the traveller community?

Hello, I am a english traveller (I don't use the g word because it is a slur for roma) and I would like to write a book about my community. I am about to embark on a masters course in education, so my main interest is the education of travellers. I would just like to know what people would like to know about travellers? What, If at all, interests you about them?

I think I hurt my doctors feelings ...

Hi,

So basically my doctor ignored my concerns about vision loss in my left eye so I went to a private doctor who referred me to a different and closer hospital and diagnosed me with uveitic glaucoma caused by steroids (which was what I feared I had). I went to my usual hospital appointment with the doctor who ignored my concerns because I needed to be re prescribed medication and I wanted to check my eye pressure was still down as it is not until next month that I see the new doctor.

When I told him I had been referred to a different hospital and would be going there in the future he seemed confused and got really quiet and was off the rest of the appointment. Not in an angry way but in what I perceived as a sad way. I tried to make it seem like I was changing hospitals for convenience more than anything else, but I don't think he was buying it. It seemed like he wanted to say something but he thought better of it.

I have had this doctor since the start of COVID and I really do think I've hurt his feelings by ditching him because of the first mistake he made. Other then this he's been an amazing doctor.

In hindsight, I honestly think he gave me the best care he could and that I probably would have ended up with glaucoma at the level I do even if he had diagnosed me. It's just that it upset me when he ignored my concerns and stressed me out because I knew I had glaucoma and I felt like nothing was being done about it.

I just wanted to come on here to vent I guess. I feel really bad for possibly hurting his feelings and I'm going to miss him in a way. Has anyone else had any experiences like this? Do you think I did the right thing?

Hello, I have panuveitis and glaucoma. What added complications does this bring to my glaucoma diagnosis? I'm 26 (27 this month), female, 36% VFI in left eye, 88% in right. I have forgotten what it's called, but my pupils are distorted due to the panuveitis.

Am I more likely to go blind?

What should I know that could happen when you have both of these diagnoses?

If I am more likely to ho blind, what's my time frame like?

Please share your own experiences with these conditions.
