What’s new

• Flows on your phone: Chat with a built-in assistant to create and edit Flows right from the Questrade app.
• Overnight execution: Log off, cash in. Flows now covers all sessions, including overnight. Set up GTEM and overnight orders to execute outside regular market hours.
• Variable comparison (Logic): compare one variable against another inside your Flow. Eg., IF ACME falls 10% from its 52-week high, THEN buy $100.
• Position P&L and allocation triggers: start a Flow based on how a position is performing or how much of your portfolio it makes up. Eg.,IF NOVA goes below 25% of my portfolio, THEN buy $200.
• Change over time triggers: fire a Flow when a price moves by a set $ or % over a time window. E.g., IF BRRR is down 5% from a week ago, THEN buy $300.

What we’re working on

• Chart studies and pattern detection triggers
• Bracket orders
• Option triggers for Implied Volatility (IV), Greeks, and Days to Expiration (DTE)
• New templates that you can build from

For anyone who has been manually typing in or screenshotting their holdings into AI, we built something for you. 

We just shipped an official MCP. Here’s what it does:

• Your real-time account data (positions, balances, holdings) is available inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, or Codex CLI conversations
• You can research stocks and options with your actual portfolio as context, not a manually described version of it
• Trade execution is available with mandatory manual approval.  The AI proposes the order, you approve or reject before anything runs

We're looking to expand support in the MCP for more of our product offerings! Let us know what you would find most valuable (balance sheet, flows, etc).

Back in May we posted an update on Questrade Pro's Open Beta. Part of it was a list of things we hadn't finished yet. Publishing a list like that is the easy part. So we’ve been hard at work implementing what we said we would.

Here's where that landed:

• Hot Buttons. Live since June. These are quick trade buttons that are also bound to configurable hotkeys. They've had far more uptake than we expected, and most of the feedback since has been about making them better. We're still fine-tuning based on what you send us, so please continue to leave us feedback. 
• Performance Dashboard. Live since July. This is like a trading journal built right into Pro, updated in real time with your trading data. Use this to track your performance so you can see patterns in your own trading. Tagging and notes are built in, so you can mark up a trade and review patterns in your trading behaviour.. 
• Top Nav. We are adding features to Questrade Pro at a rapid pace. In order to keep up, we had to change our top navigation bar. It used to list every widget at once and…well…it was getting busy fast. Now you simply click "Add widget", scroll or search, and pick the widget you want. The list tells you what each widget actually does, so you're not opening things to find out. 
• Light mode. Live now based on popular demand, dark mode isn't the only option anymore. Check out light mode by going to Settings > Appearance. 
• Font size. We bumped up the font size across the platform to improve visibility.

 

What we’re continuing to work on:
Some things never get to be "done." These are the standards we measure every release against, and work that continues in the background as we improve the platform

• Reliability. The latest release contains multiple reliability updates to ensure that Pro holds up when it matters most, including on the busiest sessions. That's been a priority since day one, and it's one we intend to keep earning every session.
• Speed. Both the platform's and ours. We shipped 50+ quality-of-life fixes since our last update, and will continue to hold that pace. It's the standard we build at.
• Building with you. Everything above came from this subreddit, from beta testers, customer feedback, user interviews, and support tickets. Getting to build this in the open with the people who use it every day is the best part of the job, and we intend to keep it that way.

You can be right about a trade and still miss it. You hesitate for a second, or you're just not at the screen when it moves. Either way, it's gone.

Flows is for that gap between knowing the plan and being there to run it. You set the trigger and the action once; it executes the moment your conditions hit, at the screen or not.

It's built into Questrade Pro, and it's free to use.

For example: IF any position in my TFSA drops 5%, THEN buy $100 more. 

Unlike a limit order, Flows won’t limit you. Limit orders tie up your buying power until they go through, so you can’t use that money for anything else. Flows work differently. Instead of reserving your money, Flows constantly scans for the moment to send your order based on the  instructions you set. When your conditions are met, it fires, giving you access to more opportunities.

You also stay in complete control. You can either have your flow place a trade or simply give you an alert. If you'd like to place a trade but only once you have the final say, you can disable auto-send. This way, you'll get a notification on your device requiring confirmation before any trade happens.

Combine as many conditions as you want. There are so many possibilities here, but know that flows are built to handle the unique way you trade.

As of today, you can trade single-leg options right inside QuestMobile.

Quick clarification first, because someone will ask: if you trade options on mobile today, you've been doing that in EdgeMobile, and that isn't changing. Edge is still the home for advanced trading on your phone — multi-leg strategies, candlestick charts, all of it.

So why options in QuestMobile too? For a lot of you, options aren't a separate pursuit — they're how you hedge a long-term hold, earn income on existing holdings, take a directional bet on a thesis you’ve built, or add a position that complements what you already own. But much of that context already lives in QuestMobile. Leaving it to place a single-leg trade often meant breaking from the exact context the trade was built on, right in the critical moment where you’re building conviction to act.

So instead of shrinking a dense desktop options chain onto a phone, we built the preview around that moment:

• Max loss, breakeven, and max profit up front, in plain language, before you commit.
• Swipe between strikes without losing context, so comparing feels fluid instead of starting over.
• Once you're in, see where the underlying is trading relative to your breakeven — the question you're actually asking.

Single-leg is the starting point on purpose — it's what fits most naturally next to a portfolio. Where it goes from here depends on what you tell us.

Hot Buttons are here. We read the threads. We saw the comments.

For active traders, every second counts. Before today, placing a trade required multiple actions - for an active trader, that’s not just inconvenient, it’s a dealbreaker.

What are Hot Buttons?
Hot Buttons are large single-click trade buttons right next to the chart. All you need is a single click.

You can also create configurable templates to accommodate your most common trades and execute with a single click either pulling up an order confirmation page or submitting directly with Auto Send.

Hotkeys are included too — configurable key-bindings for every button, so you never have to leave your keyboard. 

Single click or keyboard shortcut. You pick.

In short

• Trade buttons right on the chart — direction, order type, quantity, done
• Buy, Sell, Cancel All, Cancel Buy, Cancel Sell, Flatten
• Keybinds: configurable keyboard shortcuts for every button

A few other things we're proud of, and a few things we're still working through.

What's going well:

• Uptime reliability. It’s been strong, even during high-volume trading sessions—this was a priority for us from day one.
• Shipping velocity. Last week we shipped over 50 quality-of-life improvements to the platform, including faster and more responsive charts, smoother widget interaction, and dozens of other small improvements.
• Options traders keep coming back. It’s one of our most engaged segments on Pro.
• You are actively building with us. We see and value your feedback through all channels.

What we're still improving:

• Hot Buttons. Think quick trade buttons binded with configurable hotkeys. The best of both worlds in a browser. Development is underway and will launch in Pro before the end of May.
• Performance Dashboard. Our newest widget is coming soon. Track key metrics on your trading behaviour, to get the clearest picture on how to improve your approach. Or simply just monitor your performance, there’s something for everyone.
• Light mode and font size. We take customization seriously here. The design team is hard at work building a light mode, and the ability to adjust the font size exactly to your liking.

Since the start, our goal has been to make sure that the platform behaves like a finished product where it counts most. But there’s still work to be done, so keep leaving feedback on what you want to see next. We are committed to building with you.
