Coworker wanting us to have their budgie. Don't know if budgie is hormonal or not.
My coworker and her spouse are offering to give their parakeet (Sydney) to me and my wife. She is a beautiful bird. They are moving to a place where they can't keep it. My wife and I have been looking at getting another parakeet to put together with our current parakeet (Nugget) so they won't be lonely. The only issue that I have seen from the pictures my coworker showed me is that Sydney might be hormonal based on her brownish tan cere. I am just wondering with Sydney being hormonal, will that trigger our Nugget to be hormonal? Is there a way to stop a female budgie from being hormonal. We just don't want Nugget to get hormonal as well. If we do get her, we know to quarantine her for 30 days in another room to make sure both birds are good.
