Hi there 👋

I’m a 60 something senior who will be moving from the SF Bay Area to Sacramento in the coming months. I’m hoping to find a good (affordable) rental apartment in or around Sacramento, just a 1BR for myself and hopefully a pup to keep me company. I’m looking forward to meeting other seniors and settling in Sacramento. I’m especially looking forward to getting away from the hectic pace of the Bay Area. Nice to “meet” you all 😁!

I posted last week about this issue I’m having but moderator removed it and since I am desperate, will try again in the hope of getting some feedback here. I retired mid 2025 but then decided to keep working part time as I was told by SS I could earn a certain amount without losing my retirement benefit payments. Job turned out to be full time with overtime so for 5 months of 2025 I had gone over the allowed earnings. Got letter from SS in January 2026 (I am now in my FRA) notifying me my retirement benefits are suspended, and ZERO calculation or consideration for what I was allowed to earn. Like it was just ok, 5 months work equals 5 months cutoff of benefits. What should have been (by calculating amt earned and allowed amount) a three month suspension has now been extended to 6 months-note I keep getting letters from them extending the suspension period. I’ve appealed, gone to office repeatedly, called repeatedly, yet nothing has been done. Honestly I cannot understand why this is happening and feel so frustrated. I’d appreciate any suggestions or feedback.
