Hey all,

New pede beginner with some questions. I'm taking this slow, no pede purchases yet, I don't want to rush and make mistakes. I'm on step 1 and I just bought a terrarium. It's a used 50 gallon that my friend had stored away for years post lizard.

Questions-

• How do I safely clean the terrarium before I start adding anything? (no lizard traces + safe for pedes) Is vinegar and a good scrub sufficient?
• How much pede real estate do I get with 50 gallons? Could I fit two adults of a giant species like a Ghost Rider or GA?
• What are the rules for putting different species together? I'd like to get Pink Dragons, Bumblebees, and/or Tanzanian Earthworm pedes. Will they fight/ if I add a giant species will the little guys get trampled?
• My 50 gallon will need A LOT of substrate. Any tips on getting it cheap or foraging it safely? I'll be fine ordering additives like leaves/rotting wood online, but I'm concerned with buying/shipping 100 pounds of dirt :(
• Lastly, any advice y'all have from big mistakes you made in the past as rookies please lmk! Also please give any safe budgeting tips y'all know of. This 50 gallon is both a blessing and a curse (Broke college student tryna pede it up over here)
