Goodness of fit

My high school senior is a kid who likes to play video games, read manga, chat with friends about space and play boardgames. They don't want a big school and want to know their professors. They are interested in studying comp sci/physics or another STEM subject. We started with liberal arts schools but many of them are too focused on greek life, sports, religion or very preppy. Which is not their vibe at all. We keep coming back to Clark. We've visited RIT and other STEM schools but their curriculum has been too structured. And schools like Wesleyan and Skidmore, while great, are a bit too artsy. I share all this to see if this is how you or your kids wound up at Clark as well. Does this sound familiar?

LAC Question

My child is planning on attending a LAC. They enjoy STEM but want to explore numerous majors during undergrad. Right now their top colleges have a lot in common. No greek life, a smaller sports presence and an open curriculum.

For those of you who were in the same boat your senior year of high school...

In hindsight, was there anything you wish you had focused on MORE during your college search?

LACs

My child is planning on attending a LAC. Aside from enjoying STEM, they want to explore numerous majors and not be pigeonholed. So for students that felt the same going into their senior year, what did you focus on to make your college decision? Also, do you wish you would have given more weight to something else in hind sight?

Vibe

I am having a hard time getting a read on Haverford. Their Instagram page is filled with images of sporting events. But I keep reading that there isn't a big athletic presence on campus. I get that the vibe won't be that of a school like Michigan with tailgating, etc. But I am looking for a more chill/nerdy vibe. I can't seem to get a read on the school. I also feel like orientation dorm olympics is worrisome. I am trying to understand the vibe at Haverford, but I can't get a handle on it.
