Tell me a fucked up fact about Shameless that most people probably don't know

1.The tweet above was posted by one of the show's main writers and executive producers. They were talking about how people watched the show for the comedy rather than the family drama, but the way they put it was definitely a choice (not so fucked up though)

2.Apparently, there was originally going to be a scene in Season 3, right after Svetlana and Mickey got married, where Svetlana would give Mickey a handjob while he fantasized about Ian.

3.The writers were apparently thrilled to write some really messed-up shit, including necrophilia, but apparently the reason they didn't go through with it was that William H. Macy said he would draw the line at that.

4.Shameless apparently heavily promoted Mickey and Ian's relationship during Season 5. Before that, Mickey was barely included in the show's promotion, but that changed a lot in Season 5. Which is funny because that's the exact season when Mickey and Ian's relationship started getting messed up by the writing room.

The messed-up part is that they apparently wrote multiple sex scenes for the characters that the actors actually filmed. Most people have probably seen the deleted scene from Episode 1 of Season 5, but apparently there was another one from Episode 3 too, which was promoted by the writer who leaked it.

They were trying so hard to get a GLAAD Award, but as far as I know, they only got nominated. Kind of misses the point when you cut out a scene that was already filmed just to make room for 100 other ridiculous bits of shit in the same episode.

5.And finally, apparently, for the episode where Mandy gets raped by her dad, one of the writers said something along the lines of, "Mandy thought since I'm gonna fuck my dad, at least I'm going to make it romantic and lit candles, clean the sheets," or some bullshit like that 🤢

Does your country's subreddit feel like it's being run by a very specific political group?

For example, Iran's subreddit often feels extremely pro-IRGC and strongly anti-Trump. I'm not saying people with those views don't exist, but it genuinely seems like anyone with different opinions is not allowed to participate.

What's especially strange is that many of the posts that get approved appear to be from foreigners rather than people actually living in Iran.

I'm Iranian, I live in Iran, and I'm neither pro-monarchy nor pro-IRGC. What bothers me is the lack of diversity of opinion. Are we really supposed to believe that among 90 million Iranians, everyone thinks exactly the same way?

I've also looked through the profiles of many of the regular commenters, and a lot of them seem to be primarily active in Shia Muslim or strongly pro-IRGC communities.

So I'm curious: do people from other countries feel the same way about their national subreddit? Does it seem dominated by a particular political faction, ideology, or group of moderators that doesn't really represent the broader population?

I'm an anti monarchy and anti Reza shah Iranian. Ask me anything

I have seen a lot of amas from the younger generation of Iranians in this sub and a lot of them seem to be pro monarchy. I thought it would be fun for people to know the opinion of an older generation Iranian.

Edit:

Thank you everyone for asking your questions. It was very lovely to talk to all of you!

How many times did Ian cheat on his partners throughout the series? And do you count the times when he was in a manic episode?
