Hey everyone! I’m transitioning into the NYC DOE and trying to figure out what salary step/differential I may qualify for.

I’ve been a lead/acting teacher for 7 years in a preschool ICT setting through a private organization/CBO, working primarily with students with disabilities (preschool ICT) I also have my Master’s in Special Education/General Education.

I’ve heard the DOE may credit prior private-school/CBO experience. For those who went through this, how many years were you credited, and what proof did you have to provide? Would an employment verification letter with my dates, title, full-time status, and teaching responsibilities be enough, or do they require things like W-2s/pay stubs?

Trying to make sure I get all the experience credit I’m eligible for!

I have a question! I got hired for a 2/3 Bridge classroom for this upcoming fall, and I’d love to hear about your experiences with this grade level.

Did you enjoy teaching a 2/3 Bridge? What was your classroom setup like? How did you decorate and organize your space to make it work for both grades?

I’m looking for any advice, recommendations, or things you wish you knew before starting. This will be my first time teaching a 2/3 Bridge, so I just want to make sure I’m as prepared as possible!

Please share anything you think would be helpful classroom setup, routines, curriculum, management, decorations, etc. I’d really appreciate it! ❤️
