▲ 21 r/Separation
Not on my bingo card...
My husband and I separated in June after 22 years together. He moved out July 1st, so I'm still pretty new to this strange new reality.
22 years is a long time to build a life with someone. There's a lot of grief in that, but also a lot of other things I didn't expect: moments of anger, acceptance, confusion, and occasionally just laughing at the sheer absurdity of finding myself in a life I never imagined I'd be living.
I'm not really ready to put out the whole story of how it happened...it happened. But I wanted to stop sitting on the sidelines of this group and actually say hello.
I'm figuring out what this next chapter looks like one day at a time, and I suppose I'm curious to meet some other people who are figuring it out too.
