Converted to Duraspark, no spark

Hey y’all, I acquired all the parts to make the Duraspark conversion on my 1986 F-150, so I removed the EEC and used the duraspark system. When it came time to crank the engine after static timing it, I realized I had no spark from the coil. I first confirmed I had 12 volts in both start and run, which I did, I measured 540 ohms across the distributor pickup which is normal, continuity through the distributor body, continuity and correct resistance through both coil windings, continuity through all wires on the Duraspark harness, voltage from the “i” terminal on the starter, and voltage through the ballast resistor. I then manually switched the coil primary and got spark on the secondary. Still no spark when I crank over the engine. Read somewhere that the module must be grounded to bare metal, but have seen clean ground back through the black wire on the distributor body to the module. Since everything has checked out, I assumed the module must be faulty (being a Cheap Duralast). I just replaced the module and the coil. Why might I not be getting spark as I should have the first time. And yes, I’ve gone through all the wiring and I have voltage where I should on the correct connections. Any thoughts? Thanks

Converted to Duraspark, have no spark

Hey y’all, after taking some suggestions last time to go with a duraspark system on my 1986 F-150, I acquired all the parts to make the conversion. Read somewhere that the module must be grounded to bare metal, but have seen clean ground back through the black wire on the distributor body to the module. Since everything has checked out, I assumed the module must be faulty (being a Cheap Duralast). I just got back from autozone and about to swap in the new module. Why might I not be getting spark as I should have the first time. And yes, I’ve gone through all the wiring and I have voltage where I should on the correct connections. Thanks

1986 F150 - Computer Delete Wiring

Hey y’all, I used to own a 6.9idi diesel and just purchased a 1986 f150 with the 300-6 and I can’t tell if it still has the computer in it. When I had the diesel, I wasn’t used to any sensors, and it seems the 300-6 has had some of the sensors removed and wiring cut off.
The carburetor is an Eldelbrock 500 with what appears to only have 2 wires for the choke solenoid. However, the vacuum lines seem to be gone, even though the vacuum canister is still present. The distributor has the harness plugged into it and also a condenser wired externally. There’s not many sensors remaining, visibly the water temperature sensor has been disconnected.
I’ll look for the computer under the dash when I get back to the farm, but if possible, I want to do a computer delete if it still has one, and convert to the Duraspark II blue grommet controller and vacuum distributor.
I understand electrical control relatively well, from a background in automation and other fields, but is this something I can do with a friend or will I need to spend a couple grand and take it to a shop. Just a farm truck, not looking for anything pretty, just don’t want the computer doing what EEC’s do to engines. Thanks 🙏🏼
