Post for Steel Industry - I created a Bluebeam to EJE template that WORKS

I spent some time (surprisingly not too long) working on making bluebeam take offs transition to EJE/SMM seamlessly.

If anyone is interested I don’t mind sharing!

I plan to create a link for them via Google Drive or something. lmk

Rant: Sharon’s Defensive Driving

every time I see Sharon’s Defensive Driving around my neighborhood I see them doing something that would cause an accident. Stopping in the middle of the street at a 4way, cutting someone off just to get back into the other lane, braking suddenly.

Is this a strategy that’s used in learning defensive driving?

Edit to add info about why defensive driving is typically needed in Louisiana:

In Louisiana, drivers primarily take a defensive driving course (or a driver improvement course) to dismiss a traffic ticket or avoid points on their license. However, there are several other common reasons to complete one. [1, 2]
Reasons someone might need or choose to take a defensive driving course:
Traffic Ticket Dismissal: Many Louisiana parishes allow drivers to dismiss a traffic citation or keep it off their driving record upon successful completion of the course. This usually requires prior approval from a local judge.
Insurance Discounts: Completing a certified course can qualify you for a reduction in your auto insurance premiums.
Point Reduction: If you have accumulated points on your license due to moving violations, an approved course can help reduce or clear these points to avoid license suspension.
Court Orders: A Louisiana judge may mandate that a driver take a defensive driving course as a penalty for a misdemeanor road infraction or a series of violations.
Brush Up on State Laws: The course covers Louisiana’s specific traffic safety laws and helps drivers learn hazard avoidance, reducing the likelihood of accidents. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

Soooo that’s even more concerning. Because these students are not learning good habits.

I also can’t tell you how many times I’ve been at a dead stop at the end of my street sitting at a stop sign waiting for through traffic to pass and a car come to a complete stop to “let me go” who didn’t have a stop sign.

Maybe they have prior accidents that make them over cautious, I don’t know. But people have to realize NOT following the signs or lack of is more likely to lead to an incident.
Am I crazy? I’ve been all over this country and I swear no where else seems to have the same traffic issues to this degree.
