Illfest barred thousands of fans from entering main stage during both headliners on night one

Obligatory: I love LSDream and GRiZ and this is not their fault.

Night 1 of illfest was kind of a train wreck for many attendees and they're doing their best not to address it. There were extremely long lines to enter main stage and just minutes before the first headliner (LSDream) started, the wrist band scanner died. My group along with thousands of others were left outside waiting for over an hour. There was no backup plan and we felt very bad for the employees that were handling increasingly agitated and packed in crowds. Theres been mixed messages from illfest management on whether or not the stage was at capacity or the scanners were having power issues. After over an hour and a half of waiting we were finally able to make it in for the last quarter of griz.

Meanwhile, some friends of ours were sending us videos from the largest stage on the festival grounds and it was almost completely empty. Seems like it would be an obvious choice to host the headliners at this stage especially given that this is the first year it's been fully sold out and hosting more people than they've ever handled before.

We also endured another near hour wait for the paid afterparty which was also oversold and overcrowded.

Illfest is trying to put the blame on the fans with a recent post about "mainstage 101" trying to give simple and dumbed down advice about how to enter and leave the venue.

Rant over. Do better, Illfest

Saw this at the park today in Coppell and was curious if anyone can identify it or knows anything about it. Is it venomous? It didn’t seem aggressive, but I wanted to learn more.
