More 3D scans of my ‘64

Practicing scanning technique turned into scanning the whole bike. Here’s a few more photos of the scans I’ve done so far.

Practicing 3D scanning the ‘64

Will be designing an under-seat storage box in the near future for the ‘64. It’s an older project that was sidelined.

I thought I might as well practice scanning part of the bike with the Pop 4. My aftermarket front fender scanned cleanly.

Softer suspension for the Beachman ‘64?

Is anyone else after a softer rear suspension for their ‘64?

I bought these no name, likely drop shipped pair of rear shocks to try and they’re a mixed bag. They’re slightly stiffer with a 7.3mm wire diameter compared to the stock 6.7mm. However, the air reservoir helps a little bit with repeated bumps on our terrible Toronto roads.

Has anyone found a pair of rear shocks that are genuinely softer than stock? I’m considering buying a spring with a wire diameter between 5.5-6mm to replace the spring in the aftermarket shocks I purchased. Any suggestions for a goal of a more comfortable ride?

My ‘64 sounds… clunky?

Riding over light bumps or minor potholes has my bike sounding like a toolbox being shaken violently. As far as I can tell there aren’t any loose bolts. It sounds like it’s coming from the battery box or under the tank. Does anyone else’s bike sound so rough?

I’m planning on installing a new front fender, back rack and maybe a new set of rear shocks so I’ll strip it down and get to the bottom of the odd sounds at the same time. This post is more or less to gauge the sound of other bikes so I can get an understanding of how abnormal this is.

I’ll also book a service call as per Beachman recommendation when I emailed about this a few days ago.

Is it legal to carry a glass breaker/seatbelt cutter tool in a backpack as an e-bike commuter (not in a vehicle)?

Hey all, hoping for some guidance carrying emergency tools outside of a vehicle. I currently live in Ontario but will be moving to Alberta soon.

I ride an e-bike daily and recently picked up a medical kit plus some extra additions like a tourniquet, Israeli bandage, scissors etc, and a handheld glass breaker/seatbelt cutter tool, the kind normally kept in a car. The thing is, I don’t own a car so I’d be carrying it in my backpack instead, alongside the medical kit, with the intent of helping if I ever came across a car accident where someone needed to be extracted and given basic first aid before EMS arrives.

My question: is it legal to carry a tool like this in a backpack rather than in a vehicle? Does intent or context (e.g. it being in the same backpack pocket next to a medical kit) matter under the Criminal Code, or is it more about the object itself regardless of why you have it?

Appreciate any insight, thanks!

Edit: This will eventually live in my car, when I can save up enough for one after I move.
