First Completed game on Steam Deck - what a great game Mad Max is.
What a great game Mad Max is. I rarely finish games (time poor) but I've been playing MM for an hour every few days and out of nowhere ended up in the final mission today.
- The game is a masterpiece of pace, enough reward-reveals to keep me playing.
- The graphics are superb. Glad I played it on the steam deck, but it must look great on a superwide.
- Voice actors can make or break a game to an extent, and in this game they were superb.
- For completionists I feel it's pitched just right. Completing the game without obsessing about every vehicle etc still finishes up with around 70% complete I think, that's ok.
- Sound and music are also exceptional
- Tedium was absent, no side quest and boss section was frustrating, all fun.
- Sidequest variety was top notch, never really felt rinse/repeat.
If you watch a Mad Max film half way through the game it adds even more to the experience. I didn't realise how true to the movies the game was until then.
Frustrating that there's an impossible mission due to the publisher closing down some online apsect, that's a "could have fixed that" no-no choice for me. But I doubt I'll be seeking 100% completion anyway so I won't let that decision spoil my enjoyment of this game.
If anyone could recommend a similar game that comes close or exceeds I'd be interested.
