RM Williams Comfort Craftsman Relast
I recently sent my chestnut comfort craftsmans for a relast and internal lining replacement for $285. I’ve worn the boots almost daily for the last 3 years so I thought it was fair enough. I also condition them every 1-2 months and use boot trees.
Despite this, I’ve noticed some minor cracking where the creases are.
I have received word back from RM Williams that they won’t be able to do any repairs because of how dry the leather is. They’re also asking that I pay a further $80 (to a total of $365) to replace the boots.
I do like my comfort craftsmans, and I have a second pair that I wear for casual use. However I am not sure if what they’re suggesting is fair.
What do you guys think? Replace them for $365 or take them back and get them to replace the heels to wear them out for a few more years?
