Hi everyone,

I have a balcony with IKEA RUNNEN acacia deck tiles, and after a few years the finish has started to wear off. As you can see in the photo, some areas have faded and the lighter wood is showing through.
I’m wondering what the best way is to restore them as close as possible to their original IKEA color.
Has anyone successfully restored these before?

A few questions:

Should I lightly sand them first?

Is it better to use wood oil, stain, or something else?
Does anyone know which product or color matches the original RUNNEN acacia finish the best?

Any products you would recommend (or avoid)?
I’d really like to keep these instead of replacing them if possible.

Ik heb een balkon met IKEA RUNNEN vlondertegels van acaciahout. Na een paar jaar begint de afwerklaag echter te slijten. Zoals je op de foto kunt zien, zijn sommige plekken verkleurd en komt het lichtere hout tevoorschijn.

Ik wil de tegels graag herstellen zodat ze weer zo dicht mogelijk bij de originele IKEA-kleur komen, in plaats van ze te vervangen.

Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee?

Mijn vragen zijn:

Moet ik de tegels eerst licht opschuren?

Kan ik het beste hardhoutolie, beits of iets anders gebruiken?

Weet iemand welk product of welke kleur het dichtst bij de originele RUNNEN acacia-afwerking komt?

Zijn er producten die jullie juist wel of juist niet aanraden?
