Slides 1&2-S7E19 “Blind Justice” Adam’s arriving in Walnut Grove with a brand new bag.
Slides 3,4 & 5-S7E20 “I Do, Again” I’m only including slide3 in case people may say I missed one. This is when Charles & Caroline first arrived in Wisconsin for the wedding & camped out hence the beautiful bags laying on the dirty, filthy ground. Slides 4&5 show 2 different bags that Caroline used on this trip when arriving at the home of friends Ed & Eunice Poulson.
Slide 6-S7E21 Pt1 “The Lost Ones” James & Cassandra boarding the train for the orphanage in Minneapolis carrying 2 bags which have never been seen as of yet.
Slide 7-S8E1 Pt1 “The Reincarnation of Nellie” Adam & Mary leaving on the stage for New York taking with them the most popular of all the bags.
Slides 8&9-S8E5 “A Wiser Heart” Mort Carstairs loading Eliza Jane’s bags when she & Laura arrived in Arizona and then carrying the bags as Eliza Jane leaves for Minnesota.
The bags have now appeared in 40 episodes.

I don’t know if this first slide counts but in S7E2 “Laura Ingalls Wilder” could Laura’s purse be made out of a remnant from one of the travel bags?
Slide 2 - S7E3 “A New Beginning” looks as though Jonathan got himself a new bag for the move to Sleepy Eye.
Slides 3,4,5 - S7E8 “Dearest Albert, I’ll Miss You” Charles & Albert on their way to Minneapolis
Slides 6,7 - S7E11 “To See the Light” Mary moving home while Adam is taking his bar exam in Minneapolis.
Slides 8,9 - S7E12 “Oleson vs Oleson” Caroline moving over to Nellie’s Hotel
Slide 10 - same episode Laura moving over to Nellie’s Hotel with the new bag she seems to have acquired since getting married

Slides 1&2 are from S6E16 “Darkness is my Friend” Harriet on her way to catch a ride with Nel’s following behind with her trunk. Then Laura leaving to spend the night with Mary for an exciting night at the Blind School. Slide 3 S6E20 “Wilder and Wilder” Perley Day arriving at Eliza Jane’s & Almonzo’s for a brief stay. Slide 4 S6E21 “Second Spring” Charles’ bag isn’t as noticeable because we’re too busy watching Nel’s plant one on Molly. 🤩❤️🤣

The first 2 slides were taken at The Croatian Center in Gary, Indiana at a campaign rally in May the month before he died. The black & white was taken in the Senate building in Washington, D.C. in August 1965

Are we counting every carpetbag that shows up or only the more well off residents? First slide S6E13 “The Angry Heart” boy shows up at grandparents carrying this older, well worn carpetbag. Slides 2-3 S6E10 “The Faith Healer’ Rev Alden leaving town because he lost his church. Slides 4-5 S6E15 “Whatever Happened to the Class of 56” Charles & Caroline arriving at the hotel in Milwaukee for the grange meeting & reunion.

S6E6 “The Preacher Takes a Wife” & it’s also shown in S3E1 “The Collection” The second slide S6E4 “The 3rd Miracle” shows Adam after the stagecoach accident resting his head on one of the smaller bags.

This is from S5E22 “Someone Please Love Me” Charles IMO got a little too chummy with Bret Harper’s wife while in Columbia to buy horses. A couple of things I found interesting in this episode were that Kyle Richards played the young daughter Samantha and her brother had a bed wetting problem which Charles admitted that he’d suffered from in younger days (in real life ML had talked about going through the same thing in his youth) And in one of the final scenes the Ingall’s carpet bag makes its 20th appearance so far in the series.

“As long as we’re together” Pt1 What an episode..Ingall’s leaving Walnut Grove for Winoka.. Garvey’s & Oleson’s not far behind. Albert makes his debut. I really enjoyed it after that dark season ending Season 4. On to the bags.. first semi clear picture I got of Harriet’s carpet bag & another again of one of the many of the Ingall’s.

Since Amazon Prime will no longer be airing LHOP I’ll no longer be able to search for & find my beloved carpet bags. These photos are all from “I’ll be waving as you drive away” Pt 1&2. The final episodes in Season 4. I discovered that the Ingall’s have at least 3 of the colorful bags & in one slide you can see how worn the bag has become. I hope this isn’t the end for me but if so I’ve had a blast! 🥳❤️

I was shocked to see this! I had no idea they were married..🤩❤️

S4E20 “A most precious gift” I took a little break (almost a month) & my first night back I found this. Starting to look a little worn though IMO. Also, I thought this episode was one of Carrie’s better acting roles. The ending to this episode was heartwarming to watch.
