We get asked this all the time around town, but I feel like no one here would be fooled, still the big bad wolfs has to try.

My dog Waco went blind from retinal detachment a little over a month ago. I rescued him at 4 and a half months after being at the humane society two times. He had a fractured fibula before I had him and he’s always been a little under weight. I kind of expected health problems to arise, but nothing like this.

He’s adjusting well, adapting fast. I feel like for any breed a wolf dog would be the most capable with this handicap. It’s been interesting to watch his behavior change. Luckily we finished most of his training, he still wants to be obstinate off leash occasionally, but it’s pretty short lived. It’s incredible watching the strength of their nose become like echolocation in collision prevention. His memory mapping amazes me every day. These truly are exceptional animals.
