Jeep made rough noise, died, and white electrical smoke coming from under the hood
My daughter drove her 2021 Jeep Renegade up the driveway, said she heard a “dragging” noise and then the car just shut off and died. There was white smoke coming from under the hood with a strong electrical smell. It will not click or try to start, but when you attempt to start it goes into accessory mode. The battery, fuses, alternator all look fine. I can’t see where the smoke was coming from. The coolant level is good, engine oil is good, no evidence of leaking. The battery seems to be fine. All the lights and electrical works fine. Can anyone point me toward what I could be looking for?
