What's it like being an electrician?

Hey, I'm 27 and looking at stable careers. I was looking at a healthcare-type route for a bit and it's still in my mind since I'm already doing college classes for it, but I've also been thinking about trades. I've heard they're rough on the body but are stable routines most of the time, and I've had union jobs before, so I know I like the safety net they typically provide. I like routine, organization, and working with my hands to see actual progress. Plus I assume (so correct me if it ain't correct) being an electrician builds up some skills you could use in everyday life– freaking love efficiency like that.

So what I'm wondering is what the usual 9-5 is like for a 'sparky' (idk if that term is still used) nowadays? Or whatever hours you're on the clock for. How social do you have to be, or can you be quiet while focusing solely on the work? Are some titles better than others/specialities I guess? What's the math like– crazy stuff, not all that used, maybe some basic algebra, etc? I don't know if I'm too old to make this a career or not, but I'd like to hear from those who have.

Thinking about being a Safety Specialist

Howdy everybody, I'm 27 going to be 28 soon and trying to think of a proper career path. I'm currently in college for dental hygiene prereqs and only have caregiver/cashier experience to work with, but I don't think that's what I want to do with my life lol. I'm thinking of healthcare as a back up since I'm not really into being so fast-paced and social (then again those could just be the experiences of youtubers and reddit I've been rabbit-holing down) because it is a stable field and I like seeing a difference made. However I've always liked safety and pointing out what makes the opposite of it so I've wondered what life with OSHA is like for a while.

I've already read through what the Labor Statistics Bureau says about it and from reading a bit on here I've learned that experience is what makes the man and not the cert you may get. But I'm looking for some specifics: Certain job titles to shoot for, what time do you usually clock in, clock out, and what do you do in-between those hours? How much travel, paperwork, and socializing does it require? And most importantly, where to begin with building this into a good career?

How to learn basics as an adult?

Hello, I'm 27 years old and trying to overcome an old demon of mine. Even as a kid I had severe difficulty with math (long-form subtraction wasn't as easy as long-form addition, I only know a few times tables up to a point, and definitely can't divide), so I never learned how to do any math that a workplace or college wants to see. I'm really bad at it. So bad that the only way I graduated highschool was being put in a special needs math course. To be totally honest I need things explained to me in this subject like I'm 5 because I have zero foundation to work with besides knowing simple addition/subtraction (I still use tally marks to help with big numbers). Hell, the mere mention of pre-algebra makes me burst into tears and I'd rather get shot than face the humiliation/frustration of doing math in front of another person.

I've heard about Kahn Academy & have thought about buying math books for elementary school kids, but does anyone know if these will help in the way I need them to? Every book for teaching adults I've seen so far expects a certain degree of understanding that I lack. What are some good resources for adults who lack even the slightest shred of math skill? Everybody loves free resources but I'll buy a book off Amazon if it will truly help me function in this subject on par with every other adult my age.

What to do?

The first 3 pics are of my Quinalt strawberry plant and the last is of my Pink Lemonade blueberry bush. Both were bought & planted this year. This is my second time trying to grow strawberries and my first with blueberries, but I don't know what's wrong with the both of them. They're container based so I keep the soil moist as per their own needs, and my Sunshine Blue blueberry bush gets the same care as the PL but looks to be in better shape.

North Cali is super sunny rn and since I thought it was a sunburn-type of deal, I tried to cut down on their sun exposure, but they still declined into crunchiness. Should I cut down on their sun hours more? Or could something else be the issue?

Tetia and her arc

A lot of people have been bringing up the 'seasonal' theory regarding the girls, which I find to be a fun angle to spin that makes sense, but it makes me concerned for Tetia in particular.

Her arc seems to be upcoming and entangled with Eleolo (The Kings son), and as others mention Persephone and the other aspects that spring is associated with, I wonder if she'll be put into an arranged marriage or forced (coerced) into something similar. I know the author doesn't play to certain tropes (thank god) and I doubt there'll be a big timeskip to them being adult-age, but I've been triggered by a lot of medieval-esque medias before where I've seen lots of 'nice' nobles basically gaslight or baby-trap their spouses.

Like I said, I *highly* doubt the author will go down that route. 99% doubt if you will. But I tend to get super concerned about nothing all the time, so to me it's not completely out of question. Like a lot of others I'm hoping Eleolo really is just a kid who truly doesn't know better and Tetia will enlighten him. And that it doesn't turn into a situation where Tetia is married or bound to the guy despite his creep-itude. Does anyone else have the same dread or am I waaaayyyy overthinking things?

Edit: I know what the authors stance is regarding how she writes kids and darker themes. That's why I brought up timeskips and super doubting the author would go that route.

Plant Warriors lend me your strength

I have just recently gotten into gardening. Good news! I have a big backyard to work with and I want to make it pollinator friendly (I love moths). Bad news! The previous owners were oh-so-intelligent and lovely when they decided to plant goddamn bamboo & morning glories? (maybe vinca) at the side of the house. Which as you might guess makes me worried for the house, especially since the morning glories already tried threading into my windowsill frame and are now trying to do the same under my wooden porch floorboards. They are NOT prettier than they are annoying. Adding onto that dumpsterfire is field bindweed, which has begun creeping into and flowering in a part of my yard.

I have a few stray cats that wander into my yard bcs the fence keeps it safe from the roads around, so I don't want to risk them getting sick from anything. But by god I need the Doomslayer of invasive species to help me out here.

Okay, so out of all the crazy powers we see popping off during this arc, I was most taken aback by Prince Tserriednich and his horsemunculus. Just by looking at it you get a feel for how this dude views women, and compared to the other vaguely unsettling ones other Princes have, we've seen it to be intelligent.

What I'm here to ask is what everyone thinks the horsemunculus can do. We already know that something *really* bad will happen the third time somebody lies to its owner, but what do you guys think is the consequence? After all, Togashi made it clear that consequences in this world are often extremely brutal, such as what happens to those who fail at giving Nanika what she asks for and Gon practically being on his death-bed after the fight with Pitou. It's never as simple as 'they just die' or 'they'll feel bad' and he's definitely not afraid to get twisted with things.

I personally think the horsemunculus might turn a liar into some kinda humanoid abomination like itself (or like Zazan did to her followers). Or maybe it 'infects' someone like a xenomorph (I only say this because of its weird inner-mouth thing) and either scrambles their brain or turns them into the perfect follower (can't lie or act against the Prince if your brain is fried, and or if your body is under someone elses control while you're still able to think. Which to me is a pretty horrific fate.).
