Has anyone ever planned a late drop?

So, for summer semester I needed to reach at least 5 hours to apply for financial aid, so I added some bs 100 level class to my semester. I did this expecting to most likely drop it, I've done a late drop before but just because the class was too much on my plate (I had reached full time hours, so removing it made me part-time).

It didn't really affect anything but is there any real consequence to receiving financial aid and then dropping the class that made you eligible for it?

So, I am a teaching of history major and I need a few more classes before I can do my student teaching. I waited until the fall since ED425 is only available during this time. Thing is, I have a few other classes I planned on taking as well such as SPED410 and another 400 history class (BTW aside from 420,440,475,476 there are only 4 of??)

When I try to sign up for any of these classes (SPED, CI, ED425) they're all about 25/25 spots available and all are from 5-8 on a Monday. Is this on purpose? Will these times change or will some get added? I would also extend this question towards the possibility that other classes (400 level ones) get added as well.

It just feels so strange that so many of these class times clash together like this, with a lot of 400 levels ending at 5:30 or 6 when some of these others that I would assume are paired together frequently start at 5.
