Interfaith Family Considering a Move Back to India: How Safe Is It Today?

Hello friends,
I was born into a Hindu religious family and later married a Muslim woman. About a decade ago, I moved out of the country, partly because I wanted to distance myself and my family from religious extremism, pressure from relatives, and certain family members.
We eventually chose to move to the United States and build our life here. However, given the current visa situation and job market, we do not have a clear path to remain in the U.S. long term.
The possibility of moving back is bringing back many of my old concerns about our safety, and those concerns feel even stronger now that we have children. In the past, we experienced both sides; people who understood and accepted our interfaith marriage, as well as people who judged, excluded, or boycotted us.

With children involved, moving back feels like a much bigger risk and responsibility. I am struggling to understand whether my concerns are realistic given the current situation, or whether my perception is being amplified by the negative news and incidents that receive attention around the world.
I would especially appreciate hearing from people in interfaith families or those who have recently lived in or returned to India. How safe and accepted do interfaith families generally feel today? How would you approach this decision with young children involved?

Thanks
