Third Gen HR-V in the wild!

I have been driving by 2025 HR-V since February that year. Driving around my area, North Texas Tarrant County, I have only seen three other third generation HR-Vs. I have seen a few second generation vehicles occasionally . However, Yesterday, I saw two other 3rd gen. HR-Vs, both on the same highway and both going in the same direction. My local area is the home of the huge, four door pickup trucks, which never carry anything in their beds, and humongous SUVs, usually driven by woman. Seeing two 3rd generation HR-Vs Iis a rare sighting around these parts. 🤪

Help with AC system operation.

My previous car, a 2013 Accord coupe, had an automatic temperature control system, similar to the one in my 2025 HR-V. In the Accord, if I set the temperature I wanted the system to maintain, it would start cooling the car in the recirculating mode, and after about ten minutes, it would automatically switch to fresh air mode. This feature was, according to the owners manual designed to automatically bring fresh air into the interior once the temperature set had been achieved.

However, in the HR-V, whenever I set the temperature to the automatic mode, the system remains in the recirculating mode regardless of how long I drive the car. If I turn off the recirculating mode, then the system appears to switch out of the automatic temperature function. My question is the following: When I switch off the recirculating button, is the temperature of the cabin sill being modulated to the automatic value, or has the entire automatic temperature system switched to manual mode? The owners manual doesn’t really describe what the system is actually doing. Is the automatic temperature function still controlling the temperature even when the automatic light is extinguished?

Is this, described above, the way your HR-V system operates?

Anyone else noticed this AC system behavior or, has found the answer to this question.

Honda hybrid power plants?

I just watched the following YouTube video on Honda hybrid long term reliability. Has anyone who owns a late model Honda hybrid Civic, Accord, or CR-V with high milage, had any of these experiences?

Recirculate Button and Automatic Temp Control

I have a 2025 HR-V EX-L and whenever I select the Automatic temperature button, the recirculate button continuously remains illuminated regardless of the time. In my previous 2013 Accord, which also had dual zone automatic temperature Control, after selecting the automatic temperature function, eventually the Recirculate button would automatically extinguish to bring fresh air into the cabin. In this new system, If I deselect the Recirculate button, the Auto system light immediately extinguishes. that’s the light that says Auto in the center of the automatic temperature selector switch. is the system still maintaining the selected temperature when recirculate is deselected? Does the automatic temperature function continuously remain active when not in the recirculate mode?

The section in the owners manual doesn’t answer my question.

Honda announced new Gen HR-V in 2032

I just saw a YouTube video that said that Honda was not going to introduce a new generation of the HR-V until 2032. At least our current vehicles will not be eclipsed by a new model anytime soon. No mention of them installing the Civic hybrid power plant in the current vehicles as a mid-cycle refresh. What do you think?
