Should I mod it?

Should I mod it?

Just got this gameboy second hand, and the battery dies 2 hours after a full charge. Ordered a new battery and it's on its way. Everything else works fine, no problem.

Was wandering if reshelling it will be worth it, my main concern is the quality of all the aftermarket shells plastic and buttons, because the original feels sturdy and good. There are scratches and some signs of wear, it's not the end of the world but after seeing all the colorful pretty ones I'm considering it!

So guys, if you modded your own gameboy, what do you say about the quality of the shell plastic?

And about the newer LCD / IPS screens - will they drain the battery much faster that the original screen?

I'm fine with 5-6 hours of gameplay, but 2 hours per charge is too short, gotta charge this 3 times a day that's a hassle.

The screen is fine and has zero scratches, just bit dim even w the front light on (001 model).

ALECTO [general]

I have found Alecto in the strangest sepulchers 💀

While reading Daughter of Crows by Mark Lawrence, this passage rose from the page like a revenant and I have not known peace since. The resemblance cannot possibly be accidental. The Locked Tomb brainrot tolls eternal.

Questions about the Sci-Fi subscription

I just subscribed to the SF&F subscription, and it got me curious about the separate sci-fi subscription. I was wondering when they usually announce the next sci-fi series, because I might want to subscribe to that one as well.

I haven't actually read that much sci-fi before and I'm still pretty new to the genre, but I've been wanting to explore it more. I saw they did the Silo series, which surprised me a bit because I personally see it more as post-apocalyptic/dystopian than sci-fi, at least based on Wool (the only book I've read so far). Unless the later books introduce something completely new 👀

That said, I absolutely love post-apocalyptic stories, and if I had known Silo was included before, I probably would've subscribed immediately haha.

Does anyone know when they usually reveal the next sci-fi subscription series? Also, what sci-fi series have they done in the past? I’d love to get a better feel for the kinds of books they typically choose. Thanks!
